2nd Lower Secondary School of Markopoulo Mesogaias, school chess team

Latest sign of chess

A team of the school played in the lower-secondary section of the Attica school team chess championship (Ομαδικό Πρωτάθλημα Μαθητών – Μαθητριών Αττικής) that the Attica chess clubs’ union (ESSNA) runs, in two editions on the results server: the 21st, whose round 1 was played on 5 April 2025, and the 22nd, whose round 1 was played on 28 March 2026. The match is by the school’s number, type and town in the team name. The 2026 name prints Markopoulo Mesogaias in full; in 2025 the school had two teams (Α and Β). The team is printed as «2ο ΓΥΜΝΑΣΙΟ ΜΑΡΚΟΠΟΥΛΟΥ Α» in 2025 and «2o ΓΥΜΝ. ΜΑΡΚΟΠΟΥΛΟΥ ΜΕΣΟΓΑΙΑΣ ΑΤΤΙΚΗΣ» in 2026. The results pages are the only chess trace; no page of the school about chess was opened, so the entry stays unconfirmed. The championship is played at a host school, not here; the card records the school’s team, not a session open to visitors.
