Chess in Vyronas 4

All the chess of Vyronas in this guide comes from one club, A.O. Neoi Vyronos. It teaches children from pre-school age in groups by level, with an adult beginners’ group beside them, and it invites newcomers to come and get to know the club and the game.

The same clubroom hosts three series. The Open Rapid is a numbered tournament rated for the rapid list and open to all ages, played on a weekend day. The youth rapid is for players under sixteen, unrated, six rounds in an afternoon. The Saturday Open is the slow one, seven rounds with one each Saturday; its spring edition was played in full, while the autumn edition was called off because too few players entered, and the entry says so. The club has also tried a Freestyle tournament.
