Chess in Papagou and Cholargos 7

Papagou and Cholargos form one municipality, and between them they have four clubs and three tournament series. The busiest address is OPAX in Cholargos, whose name means club of mind sports: it teaches all ages and levels and plays tournaments on Friday evenings, alternating a numbered rapid with a standard event spread over several Fridays, and an open named after Iakovos Marten.

Cholargos has a second club in G.A.S. Cholargou, a gymnastics and athletics association whose chess section holds a youth rapid for players under sixteen in a municipal hall, open to children from other clubs too. In Papagou there are two more, the athletic association of Papagou and the Aigli club, both known here from the leagues and cups of the Attica union and not from pages of their own, so their days and hours are not stated.
